Profile

Aika – Hashimoto Keiko – is a Sound Therapist, Singer, Songwriter, Composer and

speaker of ‘Shin-on-do ‘(心音道). ‘Aika’ is her stage name that comes from a prayer
- sounding the word of love [Ai] with putting on songs [Ka] which send this to
heaven.
She was born in Takarazuka City, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan on 2nd October - the
holiday of the guardian angel in Catholicism, which is a day to thank the angels.
After studying a Masters degree in Opera in Osaka College of Music her voice is
said to be “a magical voice resonating to the soul”, and has brought 500,000
people to tears in Japan and abroad.
Aika is a Sound Therapist with miraculous effects, her voice conveying Japanese
traditional beauty with spirituality which has been highly appreciated in Asia, Europe
and the United States.
Through experiences of recovering from her own trauma as a result of the Great
Hanshin Earthquake (1995) and self-healing of her cancer, she launched projects for
healing using sound to regenerate mind and body in areas affected by natural
disasters. (Fukushima Child Support 2011 and Kumamoto Child Support 2016).
She created sound therapy methods using voices and words from inside ourselves.
Holding sound therapy concerts around Japan she expresses from the heart
gratitude for the life in all things.
“A heart sound path (Shin-on-do) improves phonetic and vocal phrases that can
inspire people’s souls and help to revitalize Japan”.
She has also sung at Japanese shrines and temples and dedicated a song “Megami-
Mai” as a prayer for peace for the Koya-san Shrine, in memory of important
Japanese anniversaries.
There is growing excitement in Japan about the many lecturers and workshops she
holds and she offers a daily broadcast “Aika Magical Time” to promote sound
therapy. Her song “Thank You” is an ending theme song in a Japanese TV
programme.
She has performed concerts on ‘Children’s Future and the Environment of the
Earth” in Germany, Australia, Mongolia and Hawaii; “Imagination Stage” on
traditional Japanese beauty in Korea, Vietnam, Singapore, the UK, Italy, Turkey and
China; and “Chorus of Hymns – Hannya Shingyou” in the Netherlands.
So far she has produced 22 CDs, DVDs and books.
